About Dr. Franco E. Vigna MD MPH FAAOS

Dr. Franco E. Vigna is a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon with extensive experience treating a wide range of spinal conditions. Known for his advanced surgical expertise and compassionate patient care, Dr. Vigna specializes in the treatment of herniated discs, lumbar spinal stenosis, sciatica, degenerative disc disease, and injuries related to workers’ compensation and no-fault accidents.

As a leader in minimally invasive spine surgery, Dr. Vigna is one of the few surgeons in the country with fellowship training in both cervical and lumbar disc replacement. He completed specialized training through the prestigious Maryland Spinal Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship and the NuVasive Luiz Pimenta Fellowship, where he studied advanced spinal techniques before their widespread adoption in the United States. Today, he uses this knowledge to deliver cutting-edge care to patients from across the U.S. and Canada.

Dr. Vigna’s path to medicine began after a successful start in finance. Inspired by the medical professionals who cared for his father during a serious illness, he shifted careers to follow in the footsteps of his physician parents. He earned his medical degree and a Master of Public Health from Tulane University, later completing his orthopedic residency at SUNY Health and Science Center at Brooklyn.

Recognized as an expert in spinal surgery, Dr. Vigna has authored numerous articles in leading industry journals and presented at both national and international spine conferences. He is deeply committed to his patients and known for fostering strong, long-term relationships.
