Ganglion Cyst Treatment

Commonly found on the top of the wrist or the base of the palm, ganglion cysts usually occur as a trauma to the capsule of the wrist joint. This balloon like bump contains a fluid similar to what is normally found in the wrist joint.

Treatment for ganglion cysts can involve aspiration with a needle to remove the fluid retained in the cyst, or surgical excision to remove the cyst. Recurrence of cysts can occur.
